Thought i'd give you the update. Chloe has had kind of a rough week. She can't keep any food down, not even water actually. We give her pills she has to take and she throws them up so we have to give them to her again. She has had bad stomach pain too. We put her on an IV at home last night and that seemed to help a little, but it was still a pretty sleepless night. She just cries because it hurts so bad. We gave her some oxycodone for the pain, but it didn't help.
I brought her down to PMC this morning and they started her on some different fluids and she seems to be doing better. They say the stomach pain is a common side effect of a steroid she has to take along with her treatments. It sounds like when patients initially take it - it can cause problems, but after that they do ok? I'm still in the dark on that one. They are going to test her urine and perhaps her stool as well (not the kind you sit on) and see if there is something else going on.
Unfortunately we found out that Elsie and Addie are not matches for a bone marrow transplant. They both were so brave to get their blood drawn so it could be tested. We were so proud of them.
We are supposed to meet with the transplant team next week to talk about our options so we'll have to let you know (information overload. I thought we were given a lot the first go around, oh no, it can get worse). Anyway, thats the latest. Looks like we'll be here until tomorrow at least, maybe through Sunday depending on how she does. I always joke around with Chloe and she'll laugh in her little cackle and say "Daaaad!" These days she doesn't think anything is funny, doesn't even want to talk. Poor little girl, breaks my heart to see her like this.
