Chloe randomly fired out this comment in conversation at grandma and grandpa's dinner table at the WY homestead:
Chloe: "Dad, i suppose you'd probably like a Deringer wouldn't you?"
(pronouncing it der - ring - er)
Impressed with her word usage, but confused at the pronunciation my dad and I looked at each other, then asked her to repeat it. She did.
"You mean Deringer Chlo?" (the small percussion handgun designed by Henry Deringer (1786-1868) and produced from 1852 through 1868.)
"A Der-ring-er Dad, you know, a pistol."
"Yes Chlo, if I had a need for a pistol I think a Deringer would be great."
