York Minster

Another great thing to see if you find yourself near York. Pictures just don't do it justice. The York Minster was built around 1200 and the craftsmanship is amazing. Lots of intricate rock and wood carvings, tons of stained glass featuring all the main bible story scenes and scary gargoyles around the towers. If you get there early enough you can climb to the top and stand on the roof of the very highest point shown in the picture below, about 200 ft up. We just missed it this time and were pretty bummed out for Josh and Callum because it's pretty sweet. We've seen quite a few cathedrals over here including the famous Westminster, but I think it's a close tie between York Minster and the one in Salisbury as our favs.
