Another Monday

Well, we're back in the hospital for a treatment, this time for at least five days of continuous chemo - maybe a longer stay i guess depending on how well Chloe does. She hasn't had the drugs she'll get this week before so hopefully she will do ok with them. Side effects are nausia, vomiting, reduced blood counts, hair loss, reduced appetite and feeling miserable. She already feels miserable, has lost her hair, has low blood counts, doesn't eat much and her stomach hurts. So vomiting would be the only new thing I guess; but, since she doesn't eat much that might not be an issue.

Actually her blood counts aren't too bad. They were worse just a few days ago. Someone asked me what they were on Sunday so here they are as of today: White Blood Cells 4.8, Hemoglobins 11.3, Hemanicrits 33.4, Platletts 331, ANC 2.5 (cells that fight infection - that is actually up quite a bit) They change frequently, especially once she starts getting chemo. So it's really good that her ANC is 2.5 now, after this week it will prob be much lower.

Chloe is pretty solemn today, probably because she has had stomach pain so she's had some oxycodone, and they did a spinal tap, bone marrow aspiration and gave her some chemo in her spine. Come to think of it... we'd all feel a bit lousy after a day like today. She won't crack a smile, but she has one of her favorite nurses tonight and I know she is happy about that. We read a few stories about Mrs. Piggle Wiggle tonight, which was pretty entertaining. I never knew the hump on her back was full of magic and the perfect place to mount wings.

I drank a V8, it was spicey.
