We feel lucky today. Fortunately, Chloe's doctors have ruled out most of the things that were more serious. They have narrowed the infection down to her broviak line. She had a blistering GVHD rash around her broviak site under the bandage where we couldn't put Tacro cream. Her bandage wouldn't stay on because of the flaking rash so we had to change it much more often. The bandages falling off is probably the cause of the infection. But i've been wrong plenty of times before, just ask Stac. She has had several antibiotics which apparently are doing their job and hasn't had any fevers for over 24 hrs. The bug they think she has can be hard to kick so they are not convinced it is gone yet. We are going to stay here for a couple more days i guess until they feel comfortable that she is in the clear. Then we'll probably go home with some antibiotic space balls to give her for a while. It looks like she might have CDif again, she had some blood in her stools a couple of times yesterday (isn't it delightful reading our blog). Every time she gets these antibiotic cocktails she ends up with CDif. Hopefully that won't turn into crypto again, cause thats just crappy. That pun stunk, sorry about that.
Chloe's been real tired but feeling pretty decent for the most part. She has liked seeing some of her favorite nurses. One of them is coming up to CV next week for the MS Century bike ride so keep your eye out for Kathy and give her a cold drink when she rides by. Unless you don't live in Cache Valley of course, because that would just be a waste of time.
